James A. Coakley, Jr.
is a professor at Oregon State University's College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences. His research concentrates on the Earth's energy budget and climate change. He is a member of NASA's CALIPSO, CERES, and MODIS Science Teams. He has served as an Editor for the Journal of Climate, and on the editorial boards of Tellus and the Journal of Geophysical Research.
